Holy Trinity Guildwood During COVID-19What's Happening and How We Are Still Here for You

In Person Worship

It is with gratitude and prudent optimism that we continue to relax more of the restrictions that have been in place at Holy Trinity, Guildwood these last two years as we cared for each other and our neighbours during the worst of the pandemic.

We welcome the return of the Common Cup and the complete removal of all pandemic restrictions in Anglican churches throughout the Diocese of Toronto.  Masks are no longer required, and yet if you prefer to wear one, you certainly may.  Although there is no longer a requirement for physical distancing, we ask all to still be mindful that people’s comfort levels regarding physical proximity may vary. The Common Cup is an important symbol in our Anglican tradition, and one the Diocese is gladly reinstating. Other dioceses, and some parishes in our own Diocese, have already done so without adverse effect. Those who aren’t comfortable drinking from the Common Cup don’t need to, receiving the consecrated bread alone is complete. However for those ready and eager to make their communion in both kinds, we hope this paper by an epidemiologist (and priest) on the safety of the Common Cup will be reassuring and encouraging

Weekly Online Livestream Service

We offer the opportunity to gather online for a weekly, livestream worship experience, which will be uploaded around 10:30 a.m. on our YouTube channel.  You may also choose to view the service again or at another time better suited to your schedule.

Message from Stephen

Jesus calls us to “love your neighbour as yourself.” Self-care and care of neighbour and stranger are intimately connected. The deep truth is we are all one cosmic eco-system, the Body of Christ. By caring for our own health (see tips from our Parish Nurses below), you are better able to care for others, and in caring for others, you are in the words of Scripture, caring for Christ, himself (Mt 25:31-39).

Jesus is not at a distance, he is named ‘Immanuel’ because he is “God with us,” God with us in good times and bad.  With Christ as our companion, protector and guide we can successfully rise to meet even the most difficult challenges, free from fear, trusting in God’s deep love and care.

– Reverend Canon Stephen Kirkegaard
