Holy Trinity Guildwood During COVID-19What's Happening and How We Are Still Here for You

In Person Worship

With the coming of Spring and the improving COVID numbers in Ontario, it is with gratitude and prudent optimism that we continue to relax more of the restrictions that have been in place at Holy Trinity, Guildwood these last two years as we cared for each other and our neighbours during the worst of the pandemic.

In brief, to come to in-person worship (Sundays 8:00 am & 10:30 am) there are two simple requirements: 1) to not display any symptoms of COVID and 2) wear a mask.  Communion continues to be in one kind (the bread), received while standing at the altar rail.  Although there is no longer a requirement for physical distancing we ask all to still be mindful that people’s comfort levels regarding physical proximity may vary.  The entire church building is cleaned every week by professional cleaners (Domstar) and high touch areas each Sunday by volunteers between services.

Weekly Online Livestream Service

From Sept. 13, 2020 on, we are offering the opportunity to gather online for a weekly, livestream worship experience, which will be uploaded around 10:30 a.m. on our YouTube channel.  You may also choose to view the service again or at another time better suited to your schedule.

Message from Stephen

Jesus calls us to “love your neighbour as yourself.” Self-care and care of neighbour and stranger are intimately connected. The deep truth is we are all one cosmic eco-system, the Body of Christ. By caring for our own health (see tips from our Parish Nurses below), you are better able to care for others, and in caring for others, you are in the words of Scripture, caring for Christ, himself (Mt 25:31-39).

Jesus is not at a distance, he is named ‘Immanuel’ because he is “God with us,” God with us in good times and bad.  With Christ as our companion, protector and guide we can successfully rise to meet even the most difficult challenges, free from fear, trusting in God’s deep love and care.

– Reverend Canon Stephen Kirkegaard
