Reverand Stephen Kirkegaard

The Reverend Canon Stephen Kirkegaard

Incumbent

Stephen became Holy Trinity, Guildwood’s Priest in 2007. He delights in the loving relationships, laughter and Spirit that together characterize everyday life at Holy Trinity, and he feels blessed to be in Guildwood.

Stephen has a Master of Divinity Degree from Trinity College, University of Toronto and was ordained in 1993. He feels his earlier work as a teacher of meditation and then as a sales training manager for a large international computing company has enriched his vocation as an Anglican priest.

Stephen is an accomplished magician and avid reader, with a special interest in celebrating the mystery and wonder of life. His work has been featured on the CBC, WTN, Vision, the Toronto Star and Christianity Today.

Melanie McLeod

Family Ministry Coordinator

Melanie McLeod has been an active member of our Holy Trinity Guildwood family for several years initially volunteering with weekly hospitality services as well as assisting with children and youth classes. Her background is in gerontology and naturopathic medicine predominantly practicing in Los Angeles California.  

Answering the calling of sharing the Gospel, Melanie has accepted a more formal role in our church community as our Family Coordinator. This role includes a weekly “Jesus Party” from 10:30-12 every Sunday at HTG which consists of a large group of children and youth who learn about the bible while having lots of fun! She also facilitates very well attended yearly special community events eg: Family Day, the Easter egg hunt and the visitation of St. Nicholas just to name a few. 

As a full status and proud member of the Chocktaw and Chickasaw aboriginal community, Melanie is excited to explore different ways to engage and support her Indigenous community in Guildwood. 

 When not being a full-time super mom to her 9-year-old daughter MacKenzie, she enjoys walking her rescue dogs on the trail, listening to podcasts and playing board games with friends. 

Stephanie Hicks

Parish Administrator

Stephanie grew up in England in the Church of England. Since coming to Canada in 1995, she has attended Bendale Bible Chapel, where she has been the bookkeeper since 2015 and volunteered at Bendale’s One Way Inn programme for many years.

Stephanie gained a B.A.(Hons) in Psychology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management.  Most of her 40-year career was spent in Marketing, running a family business (Waterbridge Confectionery).

In her free time, she enjoys gardening and spending time with family, including grandchildren and grandpuppies! Since shadowing Nicole for the last 2 weeks, she also enjoys listening to Taylor Swift, Maisie Peters, and Billie Eilish!
