Holy Trinity Guildwood In Person WorshipWhat's Happening and How We Are Still Here for You

In Person Worship

It is with gratitude and prudent optimism that we continue to relax more of the restrictions that have been in place at Holy Trinity, Guildwood these last two years as we cared for each other and our neighbours during the worst of the pandemic.

Inclusion and Hospitality are deeply held values at Holy Trinity Guildwood.

As our Welcome Message states: “We welcome all who come to worship with us.  Though we are people of diverse background, lifestyle, and opinion, we are one  in our desire to follow Jesus Christ. We seek to live as diversity in unity, offering a  community in which we can all grow together as one Body: God’s Church.”

It is a joy that many of us are once again able to share in the Lord’s Supper, but  what about those who are immunocompromised or COVID sensitive and do not  yet feel it is safe for them to share “in the breaking of the bread” at the Lord’s  table?

Firstly, we respectfully ask that If you are sick or experiencing any symptoms,  please do not come to church, but stay home and enjoy worship with us online.

Secondly, to further minimize the risk of COVID spreading through respiratory  droplets and aerosols:

  • The elements (the bread and wine) to be given to the people for  communion will always remain fully covered (lids on both the ciborium and  the flagon).
  • Before the elements are uncovered to be distributed to the people, the  communion ministers including the priest will re-sanitize their hands and  then mask.

We are grateful that it has now been over a year since all Provincial and  Diocesan pandemic restrictions were lifted. We are eager to create an  environment where all feel safe in coming back to worship in person, receive  Eucharist and enjoy fellowship, while still respecting individual choice and  freedom.

Holy Trinity has carefully followed all Provincial and Diocesan mandates and  guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all. We thank Corporation, our  Parish Nurses, advisors, and Diocesan staff for their assistance in helping  formulate this redesign of liturgical practice. Canon Stephen, Warden Michael,  and Lay Pastoral Associate Denise welcome your feedback and suggestions, as  this process is open to adaptation.

Weekly Online Livestream Service

We offer the opportunity to gather online for a weekly, livestream worship experience, which will be uploaded around 10:30 a.m. on our YouTube channel.  You may also choose to view the service again or at another time better suited to your schedule.

Message from Stephen

Jesus calls us to “love your neighbour as yourself.” Self-care and care of neighbour and stranger are intimately connected. The deep truth is we are all one cosmic eco-system, the Body of Christ. By caring for our own health (see tips from our Parish Nurses below), you are better able to care for others, and in caring for others, you are in the words of Scripture, caring for Christ, himself (Mt 25:31-39).

Jesus is not at a distance, he is named ‘Immanuel’ because he is “God with us,” God with us in good times and bad.  With Christ as our companion, protector and guide we can successfully rise to meet even the most difficult challenges, free from fear, trusting in God’s deep love and care.

– Reverend Canon Stephen Kirkegaard
